Taichi@home has two elements: Tai Chi and @home. Both are powerful concepts.
@home is about ‘feeling safe and being home, everywhere, 24/7’ via an online video magazine. Visible on any online screen: your PC, smart-tv, laptop, tablet or your smartphone. It is a platform with many videos for practicing Tai Chi “at home”. Taichi@home is a clear supplement to a personal relation with your own teacher or master.
Tai Chi is about an art-of-living, a “savoir vivre” with joy, movement, balance, strength, power and wisdom.
A community with a lot of functionality: with thousands of subscribers that can stay informed of what’s happening in the Tai Chi world.
Taichi-at-home.com gives you the opportunity to enjoy that @home and opens a totally new perspective. Taichi@home is an online video magazine. Its core is 100’s – and gradually 1.000’s – exercises on video for practicing Tai Chi techniques @home. And @home is there where you feel at home. Above all, it is a comprehensive online magazine and as such a source of inspiration and information for both calm ánd restless/troubled searchers for happiness and wisdom. It is the center-point of the international Tai Chi community. In three languages: English, German, Dutch. It contains a calendar of activities, workshops, columns, fora, news and portraits. Taichi-at-home.com creates a platform for fans to read blogs, can check a Tai Chi calendar and plan workshops, can be inspired by teachers and masters and can participate in discussion fora.
Tai Chi is an age-old theory of movement according to the principles: go-with-the-flow, letting go. Tai Chi is based on natural principles. Nothing in nature is fully immobile. The only constant element in nature, the cosmos, is the change. There is an ongoing creation process. The basis of Tai Chi is Qi Gong.
Tai Chi is practiced first of all as a martial art. Tai Chi is a martial art, a combat sport. It provides power, success, discipline (Yang). But in its design (e.g. slow moving) it is extremely relaxing.
Tai Chi is also practiced as an art of body-mind awareness. Harmonious body movements in concentrated tranquility. Tai Chi is yoga in motion. If you practice this subtle way of moving, you feel warmth coming up in your body, a feeling of vitality, and at the same time rest, silence and relaxation, but also joy and spirit. Find the Chi (Qi). It creates energy. It improves and stimulates e.g. sexual energy. It also provides physical and mental health, relaxation and agility (Yin). In this way Tai Chi creates a change of consciousness.
Tai Chi (Tao) can also be practiced supporting revalidation, to become aware of one’s own possibilities and limitations. Tai Chi is particularly practiced to improve the mental and physical health. The exercises loosen the body, are relaxing, decreasing stress levels, strengthen muscles and joints, improve breathing, digestion and enhance well-being. Every movement has an underlying objective, in agreement with the Chinese theories of health, in which body and mind are considered to be a whole.
Tai Chi is a field of relaxation. The starting point is Tao, the universe, all what is and is not. The Tao manifests itself in 2 opposite values: yin and yang. Yin is femininity, earth; Yang masculinity, heaven. Although several physical approaches deal with influencing the consciousness (yoga, mindfulness, bio-energetics) Tai Chi is the only approach that has a direct way for both Yin as well as Yang.
Our platform is unique versus all other online platforms and other ways of practicing. All exercises are all-inclusive with innovative screen images, enabling the combination of conceptual understanding and physical imitation at the same time. No left-right problems. Taichi-at-home.com is the focal point of the international Tai Chi community. Therefore taichi-at-home invites all schools and teachers to cooperate with taichi@home. Every school can get its own page on our platform. Every teacher can write his blog or show his exercises to his pupils or to every subscriber. The platform will be the community for all Tai Chi fans and offer an appropriate lifestyle environment. Although we start in English with exercises in English and Dutch we will further develop it into a multilingual platform for all the English, German, French and Dutch speaking countries.
Taichi@home focuses on what you are. How do you feel, what are your dreams and desires? What are your talents. What do you like to do? What do you enjoy? It is about what you! And enjoy that, without judgements. Enjoy what you really are. Dare to be what you are. Especially when you are “different”.
Taichi-at-home.com is first of all a free video magazine. It includes a video platform with a few free exercises. By far the largest part is only available on subscription. Eventually there will be thousands exercises on video in English, German, French and Dutch, presented by at least 9 international teachers and 9 special teachers. The special teachers have their own vision on how to practice Tai Chi. Also teachers of partner schools are welcome to place their own exercises on taichi@home for their own pupils or for all subscribers.
Together these represent all major styles and specializations. Tai Chi is not simple to learn and the imitation of the teacher is essential. Every student or pupil is now able to practice this @home and in his own pace. It is complementary to what a teacher offers and it accelerates the pace at what students remember and learn. It increases consciousness.
You can find details and portraits of our teachers on our website. We have “regular” teachers, that are part of our full infrastructure, added with special teachers for a specific program called Your Teacher Only and Your Master Only.
These partners cooperate with Taichi-at-home.com, and can be Tai Chi organizations or Tai Chi schools. The objective is mutual promotion and the online distribution of interesting programs and exercises.
Everybody is invited to contribute to our magazine with new blogs, opinions, information and new insights.
